About the project
Signal, one of Russia's largest electronic festivals, approached with a task beyond traditional programming. The festival needed its own artistic statement capable of offering a fundamentally different type of experience. The answer was the Total Work of Art Residency.
Details
Boundaries between disciplines are operationally abolished. Music, choreography, visual art and technology become a single body of the event. The natural environment was treated not as a neutral venue but as an active co-author of each performance.
Outcomes
The residency became a permanent institution within Signal. Formats with no direct analogues in Russian festival practice were developed.
